Message from District 7: 2-11-2021 Update

District 7 Families,

Families are reminded that there is no student attendance on Friday, February 12, 2021 (Teachers’ Institute) and Monday, February 15, 2021 (Presidents’ Day).  There will be no in-person or remote instruction on these two days for any students.

 

Inclement Weather Days 

With the possibility of snow, ice, and extreme cold temperatures in the forecast, families should be prepared for the potential of an emergency day with no student attendance or instruction.  If the weather is such that an emergency day must be enacted, families will receive all usual notifications including email, text, and a phone call.  District 7 will not be utilizing remote learning days in lieu of emergency days.  Any emergency day will have no instruction–either in-person or remote–for any District 7 students, and a day would be added to the end of the school calendar for each emergency day used (up to 5 days) between May 25-June 1, 2021.

Substitute Teachers Needed!!!

While having enough substitute teachers is a problem almost every year, this year the need is even more critical.  As District 7 transitions back to in-person learning for all grade levels, it is vital that we find additional people willing to sub within our classrooms.  Having an adequate number of substitutes will make it much more likely that the District can continue to provide  in-person instruction for the remainder of the school year.

District 7 has streamlined our process and is calling on anyone who is willing to be a substitute teacher to complete the application process as soon as possible.

In order to obtain a short-term substitute license you must hold an Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or show completion of at least 60 semester hours of college coursework.

COVID-19 Dashboard 

The District 7 COVID-19 dashboard contains the number of positive COVID-19 cases as well as the number of quarantined staff and students within each school in the district as of this morning.
