Shoutout to Liberty's EDUCATE club for creating th Shoutout to Liberty's EDUCATE club for creating this life-sized board game that will be used during House games and activities to make them more accessible and equitable for all students. The focus of EDUCATE has been to celebrate diversity and promote inclusion. This focus on equity has led to discussions of what equity is and working toward more equitable situations in the school community. The game board is a result of those conversations. #d7proud

Just a reminder that Friday, May 26 is the last day of school and will be a half day attendance for all students.
Congratulations to the Liberty and Lincoln track t Congratulations to the Liberty and Lincoln track teams, which combined for four state championships at the IESA state meet this past weekend! Additionally, the Liberty girls 8th grade team finished 3rd overall. 
State titles include: 
Liberty 8th grade girls 1,600-meter relay team in a time of 4:14.21. Relay members included Maggie Cadagin, Kenlee Evers, Morgan Gestes and Sophie Shapiro.
Liberty 7th grader Joanna Anoke won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.9
Liberty 7th grader Madison Kline won the 400-meter run in 59.1.
Lincoln 8th grader Aidan Bennett won the discus with a throw of 155-06.

6th grade Language Arts students at Lincoln create 6th grade Language Arts students at Lincoln created their own story, formatted it into a script, rehearsed the script, and then acted it out in front of the other 6th grade Language Arts. There was a lot of creativity! #d7proud
EHS esports recently celebrated its first year as EHS esports recently celebrated its first year as a club and honored those students who participated, including senior and outgoing president, Liam Steinmann, who helped start the club. Spanish teacher Ana Harris served as the club’s sponsor, while special education teacher Noah Jacobs helped direct the team. 

Harris said when she learned about e-sports during a presentation at a conference, she was blown away by what it could offer students. Having a son who is an athlete, she saw him be recognized for his skills and win different awards. Then she also thought about other students who have different skills that don’t get that same sort of recognition. Harris decided she wanted to be able to help those students shine. #d7proud
District #7 will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to District #7 will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to kick-off construction at Lincoln Middle School as part of the 2023 bond referendum at 3:30 p.m., on Monday, May 22, on the north side of Lincoln, just behind the Hadley House.

Nelson 2nd graders walked to Woodland Elementary t Nelson 2nd graders walked to Woodland Elementary this morning to get a look at their soon-to-be new school. Each spring, 2nd and 5th grade students get the opportunity to tour the school as incoming 3rd or 6th graders to help make that transition a little easier. #d7proud
It was Academic Signing Day at EHS this morning. O It was Academic Signing Day at EHS this morning. One-by-one, students were able to be photographed alongside family, while donning their future college apparel in front of the orange and black Tigers backdrop. Any student receiving 50 percent or more of their tuition in scholarships was invited to attend. Participation was completely voluntary, and students signed up to participate. In all, 18 students took part. #d7proud
Woodland’s annual Read & Run Marathon was a succ Woodland’s annual Read & Run Marathon was a success! These Bobcats met the challenge to earn 26 AR points and to run or walk 25 miles between February 1- April 14. 

Students completing the challenge ran the last mile together to reach the 26-mile marathon goal. #d7proud

There was a new principal at Leclaire Elementary f There was a new principal at Leclaire Elementary for one day earlier this week. Lucia Jones was drawn at random to be the student of the day today. Miss Jones spoke at morning meeting, visited classrooms, held a working lunch with some of her close colleagues and met with some district employees on issues that can lead to our improvement as a building for next school year. #d7proud

They did a great job practicing/executing many skills (budgeting, dollar method up, conversational skills, advocating, and ordering for themselves).
