Bring Your Own Device

District 7 is committed to the use of technology to enhance the learning of students and staff. As part of this commitment, District 7 has deployed wireless capabilities to Edwardsville High School.

This addition is the first step in allowing non-district owned devices to be used in the classroom. This addition to our 21st Century Classroom initiative will better prepare students for college and career readiness, foster student ownership of their own learning, provide easier access to instructional materials, and facilitate the transition between home and school resources.

What is “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD)?
BYOD allows students to bring and utilize a personally owned portable electronic device (e.g., laptop, tablet, phone) for use within the school setting. All school rules and expectations as outlined in the student handbook must be followed. For more information please see the:

Purchasing Devices
These options are made available as a matter of convenience for parents. District 7 does not require the use of a device nor does it require the purchase from these vendors; these are just options to be considered for parents wanting to purchase a device for their children.
