The National Great Rivers Research and Education Center (NGRREC), along with Swarovski Waterschool hosted a photography contest to celebrate United Nation’s World Water Day, which took place on March 22nd. The contest, which was open to all K-12 students in the St. Louis area and Metro East, was designed to bring attention to this year’s theme, “What does water mean to you?”
Congratulations to Gabrielle (Grey) Gomez, Edwardsville High School Senior for winning 1st place in this local photography contest! As part of the contest, Gabrielle had to write a paragraph describing what water meant to her in addition to the photo submission which had to focus on water (rivers, lakes, ponds, bathtubs, etc.).
