Columbus Indoor/Outdoor Library

The Columbus Game Changer Committee was formed back in November, 2019.  This committee of teachers valued the importance of reading and we wanted to provide reading books for all of our students.   Our ultimate goal is to promote “Reading for Fun and Reading for All”!

With the generosity of all of the Columbus families, we were able to collect nearly 3,000 books for this project.  We have put in place three indoor bookshelves located in each of the grade level hallways and an additional bookshelf right outside the gym.

To further enrich this project, the Columbus staff would like to take a moment to thank Mr. Bill Rodgers for making an outdoor library for the students.  Mr. Bill Rodgers is a grandfather to Caroline (5th grade) & Cole Wigton (3rd grade).   The outdoor library is located on College Street and Mrs. Prewitt has already filled the case with reading books.   We truly appreciate Mr. Bill Rodgers and the Wigton family for their continual support of Columbus Elementary School.

Respectfully,

The Columbus Game Changer Committee & Mrs. Julie Matarelli
