District 7 Nurses Organize Thanksgiving Donation Drive

This year, the annual Thanksgiving drive organized by District 7 nurses, provided more than 70 District 7 families in need with food baskets for the Thanksgiving holiday that contained a variety of canned and boxed foods, fresh fruit, and vouchers or gift cards to purchase turkeys and other items for a complete family meal.  These baskets were made possible by generous donations from District 7 students, families, and community groups.  We are very thankful for the outpouring of generosity and caring from our community!

  • deliver a recorded message via live answer or voicemail
  • send an email to all parents’ email addresses with the same information

Date Change – Circus for Veterans

CHANGE TO THE DATE FOR CIRCUS FOR VETERANS – Due to the change in the date of Trick Or Treat times for the City of Edwardsville and Village of Glen Carbon the Circus for Veterans scheduled for this Friday night will be rescheduled to a new date. Additionally, we are hosting the first round of IHSA Football Class 8A Playoffs. We will communicate the new date for the Circus for Veterans as soon as it has been determined.

Trick or Treating Moved to Friday 11/1

Please see the following message from Mayor Patton:

We have decided to move the City of Edwardsville and Village of Glen Carbon residential trick or treating night from Wednesday 10/30 to Friday 11/1. The weather forecast for Wednesday shows a 80% chance of rain and very low temperatures. We believe the public safety and public welfare risks are significant enough to change the date to Friday.

This will not impact our annual Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce Parade. It is scheduled to start at 6:30pm sharp on 10/31. In the case of inclement weather, Chamber and city officials will decide between 5 – 5:30pm on 10/31 if cancellation is necessary. Due to state road closure permits there will be no make-up date.

Please share this information with your friends and neighbors.

Thank you, Hal Patton – Mayor of Edwardsville
